The picture above is showing the timeline view of my facebook profile page. I have been hearing alot of comments regarding the Timeline from my friends. Half of those comments are against it, while the remaining either like it, or doesn't care about the change.
For me, I love the timeline.
Well, I think the facebook Timeline is better than the previous facebook view. Notice the large picture of me on the top of my profile page! well previously alot of the facebookers were very interesting in putting smaller size picture in sequential order so to make banners to represent themselves (as in the picture below).
Now the facebook is giving an easier way for users to upload their desired banner picture on facebook, but some people don't see that.
On the other hand, use of Timeline makes it simpler for users to goto any post from a long time back in just few minutes. I still remember the time I tried to go back to exact date which I started facebook. It wasn't just an hour, but hours I spend loading older posts everytime until I reached the exact post. Lets say you know the month you become friends with someone special of yours today, and you wanted to know the the exact date: well if you've Timeline, just goto Activity Log and you can goto exact month of the year and find out the date.
And I was suprised to hear from some people that the privacy is not very good in Timeline. But, all I want to tell you is the the privacy is still as good as it was before. You can actually change the privacy settings: who can or cannot view your post, pictures and/or events. It's all up to the user to decide whose allow and not allow to view their posts.
It's certain that every user will be scrolling up and down reading the posts in the HomePage. In timeline, instead of scrolling the HomePage you can just group up those people and view just only their post also. Plus you can highlight stories to see them at the top of the newsfeeds.
What I think is that, it's not because their is a problem with the facebook timeline, but because people are scared to move on. And all I want to say is, no matter how hard you trying changes happen. Be flexible and move on.
I mean c'mon, it's not like facebook Timeline is literally sucky, or something. Those who are saying that it's bad haven't even tried it yet in the first place..
